Who We Are
1st Century...
Greenbank Church of Christ attempts to follow the teachings of the Bible in a manner with how churches did in the 1st century – as best as we understand. Sunday worship service includes communion, a cappella singing, Bible based sermon, prayer and scripture reading.
Communion 1st day of week...
Communion is performed every first day of the week or Sunday as described in Acts 20:7 and is performed as instituted by Jesus as described in Matthew 26:26-28, Mark 14:22-24 and Luke 22:19-20. Performed on the first day of the week, as Jesus was resurrected on the first day of the week.
Bread & Cup...
Communion includes eating unleavened bread and drinking grape juice. The unleavened bread represents Jesus’ body where in the Bible leaven or yeast represents sin and Jesus’ lived a perfect life and did not sin. The grape juice represents Jesus’ blood which cleanses us from our sin as noted in 1 John 1:7.
