Your Presence Matters

Every week, God gives us time, strength, and opportunity. Out of the many hours we are awake, gathering with the church may only take a small portion. Yet those moments together are spiritually meaningful.
When we gather, we bring something with us. We bring a voice to sing praise and encourage others through psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs (Colossians 3:16; Ephesians 5:19). We bring a heart ready to pray with and for one another, just as the early church prayed together in times of need (Acts 12:5; James 5:16).
Our presence also strengthens the church family. Sometimes we come needing encouragement. Other times, God uses us to encourage someone else (1 Thessalonians 5:11; Hebrews 10:24). A smile, a prayer, a handshake, or a simple word may be exactly what another brother or sister needs that day.
When we make worship and fellowship a priority, we also teach our children and those around us what matters most. We show that Christ and His church are not secondary, but central to our lives (Hebrews 10:25).
The church is the body of Christ, and every member matters. When one part is missing, the body feels it. When you are present, you help the body grow in love, strength, and unity (1 Corinthians 12; Ephesians 4:16).
So let us keep drawing near to God and to one another. Your presence matters more than you may realize.
