Taking Time to Look Within
Life moves fast. We go from one thing to the next without much time to pause. But every now and then, it’s good to stop and look inside—to ask, “How am I really doing with God?”
Paul reminds us in 2 Corinthians 13:5 to “examine yourselves to see whether you are in the faith.” That doesn’t mean we have to be hard on ourselves or feel ashamed. It simply means being honest. Are we growing closer to Jesus, or have we drifted a little?
Self-reflection gives God room to speak to our hearts. When we slow down, we start to notice things we might have missed—the blessings we’ve taken for granted, the habits we need to change, or the people we may need to forgive. Take a few quiet minutes this week to pray and ask:
- Lord, where do I need to grow?
- What do You want me to let go of?
- Who can I show more love to?
Moments like that keep our hearts soft and our faith real. God doesn’t expect perfection—He wants connection. When we make time to reflect, we open the door for Him to guide, strengthen, and renew us.
