LEARNING TO LEAN

There is an old song that says, “Learning to lean, learning to lean, learning to lean on Jesus.”

I like that word learning because that is exactly what life does to us.

We say we trust God, but then life gets heavy. Something happens that we cannot fix. Something changes that we did not expect. Something keeps us awake at night.

And little by little, we learn that we cannot carry everything by ourselves.

The Bible says:

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding.” — Proverbs 3:5

Leaning on Jesus does not mean doing nothing. It means praying while you work. Trusting while you wait. And remembering that everything does not depend on you.

Some lessons take a lifetime to learn.

Learning to lean on Jesus may be one of them.
