Giving Thanks for “Thanks”

Published November 29, 2025

This week I’ve been thinking a lot about something simple—something we say all the time, but maybe don’t slow down enough to notice. I’ve been thinking about “thank you.”

It’s funny how two small words can lift your whole spirit. They can steady you after a long day, remind you that what you did mattered, or just make you feel seen. God knew we needed that.   Scripture tells us to encourage one another, and sometimes the most honest encouragement comes in those everyday moments of gratitude.

So this Thanksgiving week, I’m noticing the people who don’t always get noticed. The ones who keep things running, who pick up the small tasks, who pray quietly, who help without being asked, who show love in ways that don’t get applause. You know who you are. And I want you to  know—you matter more than you realize.

Take a moment this week to thank someone intentionally. Maybe a family member, a friend, someone here at church. And if someone thanks you, don’t shrug it off. Let it remind you that God works through you in ways you might not see.

I’m grateful for this church family. Truly. And I’m thankful God keeps giving us reasons to be thankful for each other.
