Chosen with Purpose
This draft weekend, as the NFL Draft unfolds, we can feel the weight of every pick. Teams aren’t guessing—they’ve studied, evaluated, and made intentional decisions about who fits their plan. Scripture reminds us that God operates with even greater purpose.
“You did not choose Me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit” (John 15:16).
That means our lives aren’t random. God didn’t just save us—He assigned us. But being chosen isn’t the end of the story. It’s the start.
When a player gets drafted, nobody expects them to stay the same. There’s growth, discipline, and learning what it means to fit into something bigger than themselves. That’s how it works with us.
“Only let each person lead the life that the Lord has assigned to him, and to which God has called him” (1 Corinthians 7:17).
It’s easy to drift. Easy to compare. Easy to think our role doesn’t matter. But God didn’t make a mistake with where He placed us.
We were chosen on purpose—let’s live like it.
