Always Be Ready

This week, I watched in horror as the mudslide and flood in Nepal swept through communities, destroying buildings and leaving hundreds dead or missing. People were going about their lives without knowing how quickly everything was about to change.

It reminded me of the words of Jesus in Luke 12. He compared being ready to servants waiting for their master to return. They did not know exactly when he would arrive, so they had to remain awake, watchful, and prepared.

That message is still for us today.

We prepare for work, appointments, vacations, and emergencies. But are we prepared to meet the Lord? Being ready does not mean living in fear. It means walking faithfully with God today—obeying His Word, loving others, and taking care of what He has placed in our hands.

The people in Nepal did not wake up knowing what that day would bring. Neither do we. Life can change without warning, and tomorrow is not promised.

Jesus is coming again. We may not know the day or the hour, but we can make sure we are ready.

Stay faithful. Stay watchful. Always be ready.
